The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club Show House is among the most exacting traditions in interior design. When Studio Eckström was invited to design a drawing room for the 2025 edition, the Omaha-based studio became the first Nebraska-based firm invited in the Show House's 50-year history.
We approached the assignment with precision. Not to impress, but to move quietly. To create a room that lingers.
Titled Mr. Trotter's Drawing Room, the space is an ode to ambition, arrival, and the Gilded Age salon reframed for a contemporary collector. Every object was selected with archival rigor. Antique dealers across New York, Kansas, and Georgia were consulted, atelier upholstery was commissioned, and textiles rarely seen together were brought into deliberate alignment. A 19th-century French majolica kachelofen anchors the room. Zuber & Cie panels define the rear alcove. Nothing is incidental.
With custom Porter Teleo wallpaper throughout, the room does not announce itself. It whispers. Those who engage it encounter a conversation already in progress.
